Mithuna Capital.
Mithuna Capital is an independent investment and advisory platform run by Bhavya Kashyap, Principal. I invest selectively in early-stage companies and select search funds, and advise founders and leadership teams on technology, engineering, product, and early-stage company building.
I invest at the early stages in founders who combine strong technical backgrounds with product sense and commercial judgment.
I look for a demonstrated history of building something that achieved real-world validation. That may mean generating revenue, reaching meaningful user or community adoption, or building a product or business that was successfully sold or acquired, whether at seven figures or four. The outcome does not need to have been large, but there should be clear evidence of identifying demand, shipping something people wanted, and following through to a measurable result.
I am interested in founders who understand both the product they are building and the business around it. I look for clear strategy, practical decision-making, and a history of execution. Large ambitions are welcome, but I care more about evidence that you know how to turn an idea into a real product and a viable business.
I am broadly interested in companies where technology creates a meaningful advantage. Areas I spend time on include infrastructure and platforms, hardware and wearables, deep tech, and software built for specific industries.
I am particularly interested in vertical businesses across fintech, healthcare and medical services, elder care, legal, compliance, and other markets where existing products or workflows have significant room for improvement.
These are areas of interest rather than strict boundaries. The founder, the product insight, and the evidence of execution matter more to me than fitting neatly into a particular category.
I also selectively invest in search funds and entrepreneurial acquisitions.
I look for searchers with strong judgment, a thoughtful acquisition thesis, and a demonstrated history of taking ownership and producing results. That track record can come from entrepreneurship, operating roles, investing, or other professional experience.
As with startup founders, I care less about the scale of the previous accomplishment than whether there is clear evidence of initiative, follow-through, and good business judgment.
I selectively advise early-stage companies where my operating and technical background can be useful.
I can help with technology strategy, AI adoption and fluency, engineering organization design, scaling engineering teams, product and technology planning, pitch deck refinement, and early-stage fundraising preparation.
I am particularly useful when a company is moving from a small founding team toward a more structured product and engineering organization, or when a founder or leadership team wants an experienced technical perspective on an important decision.
I'm Bhavya Kashyap ↗, an engineering leader, advisor, and early-stage investor. I've worked across everything from FAANG companies to seed-stage Y Combinator-backed startups to companies like Chime Financial as they scaled from earlier stages through IPO.
I've also built entrepreneurial projects of my own and have previous advisory experience with seed-stage and bootstrapped startups across technology, engineering, product, and company building.
Selected investments pre-Mithuna include:
I've also formally advised RipeMetrics ↗.
I have a background in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas, where I focused on entrepreneurship and venture capital.
I'm particularly interested in the period between an idea and a durable business: getting something into customers' hands, establishing a credible path to monetization, making good technical decisions early, and building an organization that can scale.
I look at a small number of opportunities each year, sourced through my existing network and warm introductions. If we have someone in common, feel free to ask them to connect us.
I plan to open a broader process for founder submissions in the future.
